About Swartz Nurseries
Located at 1743 30th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53144, Swartz Nurseries operates as a plant nursery serving Kenosha in Wisconsin. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as garden center, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
In Kenosha, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Wisconsin, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Swartz Nurseries at (262) 552-8210; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, swartznurseries.com.
Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 34 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded plant nurseries in Kenosha.

The helper, I don't remember his name, was very helpful and patient as I had to translate for my dad. He was very knowledgeable about fruit trees and gave us very good tips in how to take care of them

A charming nursery with a wonderful selection of unusual perennials, shrubs, and trees. Doug has a creative eye for landscape design, and all of their staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Our favorite place to shop for plants in this part of the state.

These guys are great! First off, they all clearly love what they do and have tons of knowledge so we we have been by there two years in a row for multiple plants. Everything is well taken care of and a lot of the plants are at a stage where its super safe to plant without having to do much work so you will pay a bit more, but it's totally worth it. My best friend even bought all the shrubs for her front yard and they are growing beautifully. I'd definitely recommend swartz to anyone who wants a great looking yard/garden.

The experience with Paul Swartz Nursery was outstanding! I asked for a natural landscape that the birds, bees and butterflies would enjoy visiting, and Doug designed a beautiful area that attracted those immediately! The team worked hard and efficiently and had my backyard done in less than twelve hours! 12 months later and everything is doing well, except the Coral Bells. Five plants and none are healthy, no guarantee on perennials that they planted. 🤷🏼♀️

Excellent mature trees at a fair price from a 160 year old local company. After touring the amazing property and meeting with the knowledgeable staff we picked out 3 beautiful specimens (dawn redwood, seven sun flower, and a princess Diana service Berry). They have a huge variety of unusual specimens far beyond what the big box stores have. The inventory is locally grown /acclimated which means these trees will grow in our WI climate. The large trees we bought were 10-18 feet tall and ranged in the $200-300 range but prices of course vary. It’s a $60 flat fee for delivery (I dug the holes and they dropped the trees in). I will definitely shop here again, if you want an investment in your property this is the place to go.
